Mechanical Engineering Technologist

Degelman is looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineering Technologist for its modern Research and Development Department.
Degelman designs and manufactures premium equipment respected by farmers for 50 years. The agricultural industry is booming and we cannot keep up with demand for new products and improving existing products. We are a mid-sized family owned company and we are looking for a sharp multi-tasking person that is down to earth, has excellent people skills, mechanically inclined and knows their way around agricultural equipment.

Education:
Diploma in the Mechanical/Agricultural field
Skills & Assets
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Strong knowledge of current farming practices
- Good communication skills working in a team environment
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- Willing to be hands on and multi-task
- Good personality and work ethic

Research & Development Technician

Duties:
- Manufacturing/machining of prototype parts
- Weld and assemble prototypes
- Organize and schedule prototype shop
- Conduct bench and field tests
- Contribute in design & product review meetings
- Design and build tooling fixtures and jigs
Skills & Assets
- Metal fabrication and machining skills
- Mig weld
- Read detailed engineering drawings
- Basic understanding of hydraulic components and systems
- Strong knowledge of current farming practices
- Good communication skills working in a team environment
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- Good personality and work ethic
